Petra, Jordan.. an ancient city with an indigenous tribe that was only discovered in recent years and now made famous through movies such as Indiana Jones. I literally only had seconds to take this photo, but it is one that I have stared at for hours since. The rock has so much character in its form, textures and richness of colours. The steps, worn over the years by the countless people that have passed by this way, make me think of the fascinating history that must lie hidden in this place... and by walking on this steps, I too have become part of their history. The light shines through the opening in the rocks in such a way that beckons the traveller to come through and explore the unknown vistas that lie ahead. It makes me think about life and how sometimes we face unknown pathways, but just a few steps forward can open up whole new realms of opportunity for us ... the light beckons us to come!
